Zimbabweans will no longer be required to pay for Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) when applying to visit Kenya, a communique from the Government has advised.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade said in a statement that Kenya now only requires travellers to apply through digital platforms for identification purposes.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade wishes to inform the public that the Government of Kenya no longer requires Zimbabwean travellers to pay for an Electronic Travel Authorisation when they apply to visit Kenya,” said the Ministry.
“Instead, the Government of Kenya requires Zimbabwean travellers to apply for authorisation on the digital platforms for the purposes of identification.”
An ETA is an electronic document that grants permission for foreign travellers to enter and visit a specific country.
It is an online application process where travellers provide their personal information, passport details and the purpose of their visit.
Once approved, the ETA is electronically linked to the traveller’s passport, allowing them to enter a country for a specified period.
