And the former George Washington University student, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree, told them an hilarious anecdote about how was cast as a frog in the musical “Croak”, or “The Last Frog”, which depicts the journey of Cassandra, the last frog on earth.
The 36-year-old, who had to take the role due to the terms of her scholarship, said: “It was not my lifetime dream role to play a frog. In fact, the thought of it terrified me.
“I crossed the threshold into unknown territory.”
The young actress threw herself into the role, and spent hours watching frogs, reading about frogs and holding frogs.
The Ray star then cackled as she explained that, of all the roles she has played as an actress, it was still her father’s favourite.
Kerry has come a long way from her days playing frogs on stage, and in 2009 was appointed to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, and even delivered a speech at the Democratic National Convention last year.
And she told her fellow graduates they should carve their own unique paths and follow their dreams.
She said: “Your life is your story and the adventure ahead of you is the journey to fulfil your own purpose and potential.” – Daily Mail.
