CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe had a horror show this season, fighting relegation all season.
But, he believes their 2-2 draw against champions, FC Platinum, on Sunday proved what the Green Machine were capable of.
They had to dig deep, from a two-goal deficit, to pick a point.
Chitembwe believes they learnt some good lessons this season, which will help them next season.
“I think coaches, players and everyone at the club have taken lessons,” he said.
“We won’t have a repeat of this season.”
The coach was happy with how his men battled back to win a point on Sunday.
“It felt very good,” he said. “The second-half performance was very convincing, considering that we were below par in the first-half.
“They dominated the ball in the first-half and we expected them to play that way.
“But, I never expected them to dominate the way they dominated in the first-half.”
He added: “We were a bit slow, in terms of tracking down, in the phase of defending.
“We were not closing them down as quickly as we should have done.
“At half-time, we made changes because Josta (Ngodzo) was not giving us the speed we were looking for defensively, although offensively there was nothing wrong with him.
“It is in defence that Josta was found wanting when we lost possession.
“FC Platinum were capitalising on his movement because he is not one of the quickest players.
“So, I thought it was down to the changes that we managed to force a draw.”
