Keagan Dolly believes Khama Billiat can still be a vital player for Kaizer Chiefs despite his numerous injuries recently.
The former Zimbabwe international is slowly recovering from an injury and is back in training.
Dolly has faith in the 32-year-old’s ability which he suggests could be needed by Amakhosi in the long run.
Billiat’s contract expires at the end of the ongoing campaign and Chiefs coach, Arthur Zwane, has not yet made up his mind about the player.
“Look, nobody knows if he (Khama) is going to be here or if he’s not. Khama is just trying to get back to his fitness level,” Dolly told the media.
“He is working hard at training, he started jogging and I think for each and any player, not knowing what the future holds is a bit stressful.
“But for him, he has been in the game long, I think he knows what he can achieve still at the club, I think he is working hard to get back to play the last few games then we’ll see what’s going to happen next.”
Billiat has been at Chiefs since 2018. He had previously played for Mamelodi Sundowns, where he won three Premier Soccer League titles, Nedbank Cup, Super Cup, and the CAF Champions League, among others.
However, at Chiefs he is yet to win a trophy and an injury-ravaged campaign has seen him miss crucial matches.
Billiat is hopeful he will get a few matches before the season ends to prove he can help the team push for the PSL title next season. – Goal.com.
