Kid burnt during church healing session

The incident happened at the Nguva Yekupedzisira Apostolic Church in Gwabalanda. Nothando Ncube, who is admitted to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH), sustained burns in the face and both hands.

The girl said she got burnt on the hands because she covered her face with both hands after feeling too much heat on the face.

Her mother, Mrs Judith Ncube said her daughter was accidentally burnt due to excessive heat from the hot water.

“My daughter was burnt on Friday during a healing process conducted by the pastor at church. She sustained burns due to excessive heat from the steam.

“It was an accident and no foul play is suspected because I was there and this is a traditional method that we use in the process of spiritual healing,” said the mother.

Mrs Ncube said they reported the matter to the police before they took the girl to the hospital.-Chronicle
