Killer T, Hwindi at College Campus Block Party

Zimdancehall singers Killer T and Hwindi president will tomorrow headline the College Campus Block Party scheduled for The Round Table East at Belgravia Shops.

The double bill will see the two Zimdancehall chanters go head-to-head at a gig that promises nothing short of fireworks.

Killer T, whose real name is Kelvin Kusikwenyu, has been doing well with his award-winning album “Ngoma Ndaimba”, which features the chart-topper “Toda Kumbofarawo”, a club hit that has everyone singing along.

Of late, Killer T, who hails from Mbare, has been collaborating with a number of artistes including Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave whose hit “Vanondibatirana” caused quite a stir in music circles.

Besides causing unwarranted controversies for gospel singer, the track saw Fungisai dominating the news headlines after she clinched the Best Collaboration Award during the Zimdancehall Awards last year.

Killer T has a number of hits up his sleeve and is able to hold his own at any given time and stage.

Also not to be outdone is the fast-rising chanter Hwindi president of the “Tambirai Monarch” fame.

The self-proclaimed Hwindi president who represents touts from across the ghettos is making a big statement about how people perceive touts.

To him, being a tout is like any other job save for the fact that they do not work in an office, but at bus termini.

In a way he is trying to portray touts as hard-working people as opposed to the view that they cause unnecessary commotion and are rude to passengers.

Whether or not he is succeeding in painting that bright picture is another point to conjure up because it is generally agreed that hwindis are a menace to society.

The gig is being put together courtesy of Dollar Bill Entertainment, Campus Culture, ZB Bank, Kenako Music and Kelly’s Kitchen.

This is one of the many upcoming shows organised by the group and music lovers should brace up for top notch entertainment.

Besides live performances by the two Zimdancehall chanters, there is a line-up of some of Harare’s finest DJs in the likes of Rax, RayDizz, Abisha Palmer as well as 2Bad of Judgment Yard.

So, for those who love their dancehall, Abisha and 2Bad will be at your service.

DJ Dollar Bill confirmed that all was set for the gig and was hopeful that revellers will have a time of their lives.

“There is going to be a powerful PA system courtesy of my company as well as tasty food from Kelly’s. This is going to be one massive party not to be missed. Just to add spark to the event there will be a fashion parade by top notch models so this is a must-attend gig. Fans should come in their numbers,” said DJ Dollar Bill.
