ZIMDANCEHALL prodigy, Killer-T, has promised nothing short of fireworks for his Mutare show billed at Motoring Club tonight (Friday).
Killer-T whose real name is Kelvin Kusikwenyu rose to fame in 2013 with tracks such as Tiri kumhanya and Makarova Gunners and ever-since has been making inroads in the Zimdancehall circles highly-rated among the country’s top chanters.
Motoring Club spokesperson Lovemore Chitima confirmed the show and said it would set-off their Summer Splash jamboree in which they have lined up a series of top-drawer shows running until end of November.
“All the preparations for the Killer-T show are in place and he will be the first to warm up the stage as we have lined up some exciting shows this summer. We decided to bring Killer-T because he is one of the best upcoming Zimdancehall artistes in the country present-day,” said Chitima.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, as Killer-T is also affectionately called, on Monday promised Mutare a five-star performance. His manager Brian ‘DJ Bimma’ Marukutira said a big show was in tow.
“We are excited about the show in Mutare and Killer T is working on something special, so Zimdancehall fans should come prepared for a superb show,” said Marukutira.
Killer-T’s latest 15-track album Ngoma Ndaimba released early this year in June with club bangers such as Itai Ndione, Kukosha kweChikorobho and Vagara Vanongovenga, further proved the Mbare chanters lyrical prowess and placed him back on top following criticism prior, early this year that the chanter had lost his steam.
On the other hand, the man-of-the-moment, Jah Prayzah whose real name is Mukudzeyi Mukombe, and his band the 3rd Generation will perform next at the club on October 23 followed by other high profile shows by Zimbabwe’s granddad of music, super-star, Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi and Soul Musaka better known as Soul Jah Luv, of the Ndini Uya Uya and ‘Gum kum’ fame.
