THE buzz was electric in Harare yesterday afternoon as British-Nigerian entertainment mogul and cultural visionary King SMADE, touched down in Zimbabwe ahead of the AfriKingdom Festival 2026–2027.

The renowned Afrobeats pioneer and CEO of SMADE Entertainment Group was all smiles as he arrived in Harare.

He described Zimbabwe as a land of opportunity, talent and rich culture. “It feels amazing to finally be here in Zimbabwe — a land of warmth, talent, and rich heritage,” SMADE told journalists upon arrival.

“I’ve always wanted to experience this beautiful country and connect with its creative spirit. “Zimbabwe holds a special place in Africa’s story, and I’m excited to see how we can work together to shape the future through AfriKingdom.”

SMADE, who co-founded the world-famous Afro Nation Festival and has produced over 1,000 events globally, said the AfriKingdom Festival will be a defining moment not just for Zimbabwe but for the African creative and faith sectors.

“The festival is more than just an event — it’s a platform that will put Zimbabwe on the global map as a hub of creativity, culture, and innovation,” he said.

The visit, hosted by AfriLegacy in partnership with Nyaradzo Group, is part of preparations for the continental festival, which will bring together artists, business leaders, investors and youths from across Africa and the diaspora.

AfriLegacg chief executive Joseph Madziyire described the visit as an historic milestone.

“Dr SMADE’s presence in Zimbabwe is a prophetic and strategic alignment of purpose,” said Madziyire.

“This is a moment to showcase Zimbabwe’s creative and business potential to the world. “Through this collaboration, we are building bridges between faith, enterprise, and creativity, positioning Africa as a global force of influence and innovation.”

According to organisers, King SMADE will hold strategic meetings with government ministries, corporate leaders, and creative organisations, while also participating in cultural and faith-based events that highlight Zimbabwe’s vibrant heritage.

The AfriKingdom Festival, set to run from December 2026 through 2027, promises international worship concerts, business and leadership summits, fashion and film showcases, and youth empowerment forums.

SMADE said the festival will be a springboard for Africa’s creative economy, creating opportunities for local talent to shine on a global stage. “Africa has some of the most dynamic talent in the world,” said SMADE.

“Zimbabwe is ready to show that its creative industries can compete and thrive internationally.” Madziyire said hosting SMADE is not just about a single visit but a statement of Zimbabwe’s readiness to take a central role in Africa’s cultural and creative renaissance.
