Coventry, from Zimbabwe, is heading to the city of Coventry in England to visit some of the region’s main attractions and check out the city’s sporting facilities as she continues her preparations for London 2012 Olympic Games. The 28-year-old will be meeting key delegates before paying a visit to members of Coventry Swimming Club to share her experiences at the last two Olympic Games.
She will also be at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday when Coventry take on West Ham United in the Championship, the Christmas lights celebrations in the city centre and watch Coventry Blaze before visiting the Exhall headquarters of Olympic and Paralympic Torch manufacturers the Premier Group.
Her journey comes to an end next Tuesday when she will watch the latest instalment of the Coventry City Council Olympics Team’s Festival of Sport before travelling to Coventry University to meet sport scholars.
City council leader John Mutton said: “We are delighted to welcome Kirsty back to our city and to show her some of the fantastic ways in which Coventry is involved in London 2012.
