ZIMBABWEAN midfielder, Jonah Fabisch has signed a two-year-contract with German Third Division club, FC Erzgebirge Aue.

He joins on a free transfer.

This follows his departure from second division club 1, FC Magdeburg.
Erzgebirge confirmed the signing of the 22-year-old Fabisch, saying: “FC Erzgebirge Aue has signed offensive player, Jonah Fabisch.

“The versatile 22-year-old was trained at Hamburger SV and is moving from 1. FC Magdeburg to Lößnitztal for an initial two-year period.”

Fabisch’s latest transfer comes after he spent just one year at Magdeburg.
He didn’t feature much in the first team and played mostly in the reserve side.

Fabisch is the son of the late Dream Team coach, Reinhard Fabisch.
He was born on 13 August 2001 to legendary former Warriors coach and Chawada Kachidza-Fabisch.

His surname rings loud in the memories of the Zimbabwean football community.
His father was the mentor of the famed Dream Team that featured the likes of Peter Ndlovu, the late Benjamin Nkonjera and Francis Shonhayi, among others.

Career
Jonah has developed through the age group teams of the German Bundesliga team and is now a junior international for Germany.

He has previously been called for the Zimbabwe national Under-23 football team and the Warriors but, he has not featured for them for different reasons.

Meanwhile, the Warriors will seal a semi-final berth should they overcome their old rivals Zambia this afternoon at the Cosafa Cup 2024.

Chipolopolo will come into battle, licking their wounds after Kenya’s Harambee Stars handed them a surprised 2-0 beating in the other Group B opener.
