CONGOLESE rhumba star, Koffi Olomide, will headline the “African Explosion” musical extravaganza to be held on April 15 at Kadoma Odyssey Hotel.
South African pop duo, Mafikizolo, are also part of the line-up along with Jah Prayzah.
Suluman Chimbetu, Tamy Moyo and Enzo Ishall have been added into the line-up to add variety.
Speaking to H-Metro ahead of the show, event coordinator – Prince Mharadze – said it was all systems go.
“We have done most of the logistics with a few additions to the line-up.
“We have decided to add Sulu in the line up and he is expected to be the opening act if all goes according to plan.
“We are also happy with the uptake of tickets at the event where we do expect a bumper crowd.
“Most of the rooms have been taken and it really promises to be a sold out gig,” he said.
Prince, who is the son of 2 Kings Entertainment co-director Tich Mharadze, said all the artists in the line-up were ready for the event.
“We do expect Mafikizolo on Saturday and we are finalising Koffi Olomide’s travel arrangements.
“Currently, Koffi is in Cape Town, South Africa and we do expect him a bit earlier if all goes according to plan.
“This show is a bit special to us as we are celebrating some of the continent’s top acts.
“The show will also go a long way in promoting Kadoma’s hospitality.”
Last year, the venue hosted Makhadzi and people drove all the way from Harare and nearby towns to watch the event.
While the attention would be on foreign acts – Mafikizolo and Koffi – locals should not be written off.
Jah Prayzha is one of the local acts who is expected to give fans value for their money.
Suluman Chimbetu who has never disappointed each time he takes to big stage.
Sulu is a man for the big occasions and this Saturday affords him another platform to shine.
Tamy Moyo is also doing well.
