KADOMA’S Odyssey Hotel will tomorrow host the show of the weekend when Congolese rhumba guru, Koffi Olomide, takes centre stage.
The mega show is likely to provide a huge boost for the local economy in this buzzing gold mining town.
Dubbed “Africa Explosion”, the high-profile gig also features top South African pop outfit, Mafikizolo.
Superstar Jah Prayzah is also one the major draw cards at the event.
Suluman Chimbetu, who made a late entry into the line-up, will feature as an opening act, event’s organisers say.
Award-winning diva, Tamy Moyo is also part of the line-up along with Zim dancehall chanter, Enzo Ishall.
Odyssey Entertainment is behind the event.
Event coordinator, Prince Mharadze, told H-Metro the big stage has been set for this show.
“We have been running around doing all the necessary logistics and we are just ready for the show.
“It’s going to be one of the biggest events in Kadoma and Zimbabwe in general so we have everything in place.
“We are happy with the uptake of advance tickets and it really promises to be a night to remember.
“Most of the rooms have been taken and it really promises to be a sold-out gig.”
Prince, who is the son of 2 Kings Entertainment co-director, Tich Mharadze, added:
“This show is special to us as we are celebrating some of the continent’s top acts,” he said.
Tomorrow’s gig is a big special as it comes at a time when Jah Prayzah is enjoying a purple patch.
Last year, the Kadoma Odyssey Hotel hosted the Kadoma Music Festival, headlined by Jah Prayzah and South African musician, Makhadzi.
Reports in Kadoma say most of the accommodation at Odyssey Hotel has been taken up.
