The Kokota Festival is set to return in August as organisers revive the popular youth movement with a vibrant Yanos-inspired atmosphere and renewed focus on promoting emerging talent.
Now in its 14th edition, the festival will be held on August 29 at a venue yet to be announced in Bulawayo. This year’s showcase marks the ninth edition in Zimbabwe, with the previous five editions having taken place in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The event is expected to feature a diverse line-up of artistes, DJs, dancers, and performers, highlighting both established and rising creatives within the entertainment scene. Among the acts billed to perform are Browny, Barrack Bozza, Peezet Samafana, YungCreepy, DJ Mitchie, Brendon Dat Guy, King SG, Killer Nox, Vuyo The DJ, NdoxMan, DJ FFF Mofly, Amakruger, Stormza, Queen Tasha, Moreen, DJ Ma22, DJ Gaddafi, and Teresa Lyon.
Kokota Festival founder Browny said the event remains committed to creating opportunities for up-and-coming artistes to showcase their talent and grow their brands.
“The festival has developed a strong following over the years because people appreciate a movement that genuinely supports upcoming talent across different creative sectors such as music, DJing, dance, and modelling,” said Browny.
“We’re looking forward to bringing back the energy and excitement. We’ve been doing this for a long time and now it is time to shine again by introducing fresh sounds and unique festival vibes. This year we want to come back stronger with a powerful line-up and surprise our audience after taking a break from hosting this youth-driven event.” – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
