Kombi rams Mbare house

Mr Francis Mushonga was rushed to Harare Central Hospital after sustaining serious injuries from the collapsing walls of the house.
Mr Mushonga, who was not feeling well, was sleeping in one of the rooms.

One of the passengers in the kombi sustained minor injuries. Another occupant of the house, Mr Eria Peduro, said he was relaxing but was awoken by a loud bang and debris from the collapsing wall.
“I am lucky to be alive as the kombi stopped right in front of my bed. The kombi destroyed the wall, my radio and television set while the collapsing wall destroyed my wardrobe,” he said.
The driver of the kombi could not be located but onlookers said he bolted from the scene soon after freeing himself from the rubble.

A policeman at the scene said the kombi driver could have lost control after hitting a Peugeot 405 sedan before ramming into the house. The accident occurred at around 6pm.
