The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is hosting a breakdance workshop slated for October 21 and 22 in Harare, with a Korean
multiple award-winning breakdance group, Jinjo Crew, set to perform.
The Jinjo Crew is also expected to put up a thrilling performance.
The breakdance workshop will be held at The National Ballet Centre while the performance will be held at Harare International
School.Both events are free of charge.
In a statement, the Embassy said: “This grand finale allows for the Zimbabwean audience to enjoy the intricacies of
breakdancing/b-boying through the two consecutive events.”
“The opener of the duo-finale event of this year will be a workshop hosted by the crew on October 21. This workshop was
organised by Jinjo Crew themselves with the help of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Zimbabwe.
“The main goal of the workshop is for cultural and skill interchange between local dancers and the Jinjo Crew and to facilitate
for a platform to learn about b-boying from industry profession. To close off this phenomenon is the main event, the
breakdancing performance at Harare International School on October 22 at 5pm.”
Jinjo (meaning rising fire) was formed in 2001. They are known for their intricate teamwork and dynamic showcase and have
achieved worldwide recognition and success after emerging as the first b-boy team in the world to hit a grand slam.
The crew will be performing in Zimbabwe for the first time.
