KUJATA Jata hit-maker, Bio “DT” Mudimba, has been rewarded for his creativity and talent with a slot in the much-hyped Sungura Fest.
Headlined by Alick Macheso, the musical fête will be held on September 3, at Pamuzinda Highway X-scape.
Leonard Zhakata, Somandla Ndebele, Peter Moyo, Mark Ngwazi and MC Skywalker are part of the bill.
Rising sungura artist, Senator Tichareva, has also been added to the line-up.
Mudimba has shaken the industry.
Event coordinator, Jack Radics, reckons they have done all the groundwork.
“We have decided to make two additions in the line-up taking part in the Sungura Fest.
“The Kujata Jata guy (Mudimba) and Senator (Tichareva) are the two artists we have added.
“It is our hope that the two artists will certainly add value in the line-up.
“We hope and believe fans will have real value at the event,” he said.
The show, which coincides with the last day of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, is a bit special in that it will also mark Macheso’s return to home soil after an international tour.
For Soma, who has been in hibernation, has been afforded yet another platform to shine and prove his doubting Thomases he still has the mojo.
As for Peter Moyo, this is the right platform for him to show his true credentials as a top sungura artist.
Ngwazi has also been afforded another platform to shine and complement Macheso.
He will be under the spotlight after their comparisons which have been raging for months.
Ngwazi is riding high with his latest album Nharo Nezvine Nharo while Macheso continues to woo fans with his 12th album Tinosvitsva Nashe.
Mudimba and Senator have said they are not out to add numbers.
The event starts around 6pm till late.
