TINO KADEWERE says moving to La Liga is a major boost for his career, which had seemingly stalled in France.

Kadewere is in Spain to complete his one-year loan move to Mallorca.

Mallorca have four points from one win, one loss and one draw.

“I’m so happy to join La Liga. It’s a different league, but it’s something which motivates me and I think it’s a good move for my career,” said Kadewere.

“To play in La Liga, it’s something I’m happy about because not every player can get an opportunity to play in different leagues.

“I’m grateful to God for that and I know that He has a plan for me and that all things will work well.

“I needed this and I’m hoping I will be able to get some time to redeem myself.

“I think football is the same and, as a player, you should be ready for anything and I’m always ready for the challenge.”

He said this could be the beginning of a new phase in his career.

“It’s a different league, yes, but I think I’m up to it.

“I think it’s the beginning of something new and it’s a good start for me.

“I didn’t have the best season last season, so it’s an opportunity to start over and try to do all I can for the team.

“I know it’s not easy to come and command a place in a new team, but I want to earn my place in the team because my goal is to get some game time since I haven’t been able to play more at Lyon.”

Kadewere was excluded from the Lyon squad, which traveled to face his Warriors’ teammate Marshall Munetsi’s Stade Reims.

Brest, Strasbourg and other clubs were after the striker’s signature.

But, he eventually settled for a move to La Liga.

“Yes, there were many teams interested in me.

“But, there were some things I needed to consider and Mallorca met them, and all thanks to my agent and my family.

“They have been very supportive from day one, and I’m grateful to them and happy with the decision that we’ve all made,” he said.

As one of the most followed Zimbabwean footballers on social media, there were mixed reactions from fans, but Kadewere assured them that his move was in his best interest.

“There’re mixed emotions from fans about the move, but I want to assure them that this was the best move for me.

“Some were worried about me not playing and were sending messages asking me what’s going on?

“But, I am promising them that I will try to do my best, and they should look forward to seeing the best from me.

“Some will may say otherwise, but I think it’s a big move for me right now,” he said.
