Kupa Kuturika: Macheso reveals message behind new album

Online Reporter
Sungura giant Alick Macheso has named his forthcoming album, Kupa Kuturika.

The new album, his 13th offering, will be launched at Alex Sports Club in Harare on August 2.

The album is expected to carry six tracks, a tradition Macheso has maintained over the years.

Macheso, who has been sampling some of the new songs during his performances, told H-Metro that the album touches people’s day-to-day issues.

“It’s all about what affects people in their day-to-day lives.

“It carries a number of themes, but all to do with people who are our fans. Remember we sing for the people,” Macheso exclusively told H-Metro.

“We are putting the final touches to the project. We will be revealing all relevant information as time progresses to keep our fans informed,” he added.

Macheso has retained instrumentalists from his previous album, which include Zacharia Zakaria, Francis “Sekuru Poto” Charamba, Mike “Maikoro” Adelino, Tafi Nyamunda, Noel “Nowero” Nyazanda, Divine Muzenda, Givemore Chokumanyara and Paul Mpofu Jnr.

Seasoned drummer Obert Gomba has also pledged to be part of the project.
