KUTAMA COLLEGE will host an eight team soccer gala on Saturday to mark the institution’s 100 years of existence.

The tournament will be a precursor to the institution’s grand centenary celebrations that are set for March 21 at the Zvimba school that is famed for schooling President Robert Mugabe.

A member of the tournament’s organising committee Malvern Koba said they are anticipating an exciting day.

“We are hosting this tournament as part of our programme to celebrate Kutama College’s 100 years of existence.

“The participating teams will be drawn from Zvimba and surrounding areas while other participants are coming from Gweru.

“Saturday’s tourney will mark the beginning of the celebrations which will culminate in the grand ceremony at Kutama on March 21,” said Koba.

Among the teams that have so far confirmed their participation are Mkoba from Gweru, Kutama Teachers, Zvimba Football Club and Kutama College.
