UPCOMING body-builder Tadiwa Kwangware was outstanding when he won the Kwekwe Sports Festival junior and senior men’s body-building contest at Sanja on the deck complex in Kwekwe on Saturday.

Kwangware first won the junior men’s body-building contest, beating Albert Musarurwa and Israel Nyatanga to second and third place, respectively. In the senior men’s section, he shoved off competition from Enoch Mugariwa as Musarurwa came out third.

The Hulk was ecstatic and thanked the organisers of the tournament for the opportunity to shine and improve on his stage presence.

“I am very happy to have managed to win two categories at this first-ever Sanja Kwekwe sports festival, and I am grateful to the sponsors and organisers of the event.

“By having tournaments like these, it helps us to keep on working hard and improve on our stage presentations. The competition was tough, but after winning the junior men’s section, my confidence levels rose when I went for the big one, senior men’s body-building.

“I look forward to take part in more contests like the Harare Classic in the near future,” said Kwangware. The sport festival saw seasoned athlete Malcom Dzvuke also winning two accolades as he walked home with the Bermuda model and the men’s sports model accolades. Dzvuke started by beating Aberd Mapingure and Prince Mugabe to second and third places in the Bermuda model before he beat Douglas Shumba and Kwangware in the men’s sports model.

In the powerlifting category Manix Masundire was outstanding as he beat Francoise Chikukwa and Gift Portifa to the accolade. In the women’s sports model event, Nomsa Nkomazana managed to get the better of Diana Zengeni. The jeans model category was dominated by Prince Mugabe who got the better of Mapingure and Shumba.
