TWO suspected con artists are allegedly duping desperate job seekers in Kwekwe by promising them jobs.
The duo of Fish Chiyangwa and Shingirai Bushu are reportedly charging as much as US$250 from their victims.
The duo, according to the complainants, claim they work for the World Food Programme.
Bushu allegedly masquerades as the firm’s Human Resource Manager.
One of the victims, Cynthia Matashu, told H-Metro she was duped by the duo of US$250.
Donald Kasimunda, who also fell to the pair’ tricks, has since lodged a police report against the duo. “We paid them US$250 and a date was set for induction and they kept on postponing it and it started to be suspicious.
“I had to call the offices of the World Food Programme and they said that they were not aware of the guys.
“At that moment, I realised that we had been scammed so I had to report the case to the police,” he said.
Kwekwe police could not shed more light on the alleged scam saying the matter was still under investigation.
