Kwekwe town clerk loses primary elections

Long-serving Kwekwe City town clerk Mr Emmanuel Ngwena Musara’s bid to exchange administration for politics hit a snag when he lost to Cde Kandros Mugabe in Zanu-PF primary elections. Mr Musara, who has not resigned from his office, was contesting primary polls for Kwekwe Central Constituency together with another candidate, Cde Jon Mapura, who later withdrew.

Mr Musara was trounced by Cde Mugabe who is a leader of an apostolic sect, Zvipo Zvemweya Apostolic Church who garnered 1 840 votes against his 335 votes.

Mr Musara could not be contacted for comment yesterday as his mobile phones went unanswered.
Zanu-PF Midlands Provincial spokesperson, Cde Cornelius Mupereri said Mr Musara was free to continue with his administrative job at Kwekwe City after losing out in the party elections.
