KYLIAN MBAPPE is reportedly chasing £47million in unpaid wages from old club Paris Saint-Germain. The French World Cup winner (25), quit the French capital on a free transfer this summer before penning a deal with Spanish and European champions Real Madrid.
Mbappe scored on his debut for Los Blancos in last week’s Uefa Super Cup win against Atalanta. And he is hoping to land an EIGHTH career league title in his first season at the Bernabeu.
However, reports in France claim Mbappe is now embroiled in a row with former side PSG. Le Monde claims he has referred them to Uefa, plus the Ligue de Football Professionnel’s legal commission, over unpaid wages worth £47m.
Mbappe says he has not been paid the final three months of his PSG contract. And he also claims to be owed an “ethical bonus” – as well as part of another signing bonus worth £30m.
PSG dispute Mbappe’s claims, reportedly arguing that he made “commitments” to renounce the payments if he left as a free agent this summer.
However, it’s added that no agreement has been ratified between PSG and Mbappe since representatives last met in 2023.
And the forward could eventually bring his case to France’s labour court. In the meantime, PSG could be hit with a transfer ban by the LFP for “failure to pay sums due.”
While Uefa could withdraw their Club licence unless PSG prove they do not owe any money from before February 28 this year.
That could potentially see Luis Enrique’s side drop out of the Champions League, with the group stage draw taking place on August 29. (www.thesun.co.uk)
