MULTI-Award-winning producer L.A Beatz says he will launch his new album, Umphetho WeNgubo at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
The artiste who is based in South Africa will be coming to Zimbabwe in November to promote the debut album which features a host of artistes from the neighbouring country.
Born Lazarus Nyashanu, L.A Beats has been working with artistes such as Big Zulu, Mduduzi Ncube, and Sjava. The album, a product of L.A Beatz recording label, features Mduduzi Ncube, Siya Ntuli, Azana, Xowla, Just Bheki, MusiholiQ, Mzukulu, Mzuluphaqa, Marley girl, Sweetguy, Vernotile and Sundokuhle Ngidi among others.
At the event that will be part of his tour, L.A Beatz said he will rope in up-and-coming artistes from the city to share the stage with him as well as some of the artistes from South Africa featured on the album.
“We need to inspire each other and build a bigger platform for up-and-upcoming artistes,” said L.A Beatz.
The producer who is famed for producing Big Zulu’s Imali Eningi hit, said the purpose of the tour is to encourage people to keep moving no matter how hard life gets.
“Through my album tour, I want to target youths because some of them have resorted to using drugs as a way of surviving. I’m just trying to bring back that light to them. I want them to see another youth like them doing something big,” he said.
Umphetho weNgubo, an album that LA Beatz said is therapeutic in nature, was released in March this year.
“The album itself is about healing. We’re basically trying to reach out to as many people who’re going through different situations as the idea is to encourage, motivate, inspire and heal.”
“Just by listening to it, healing is guaranteed and each and every person will have their own testimony at the end of the day.”
The producer said he is looking forward to staging his show at home in Zimbabwe.
“It’s been long since I came home. I’m doing so much on this side and there are many kids who are getting inspired every time they hear my name or see my work. So this tour is about coming home with a product and showing the youths what we have achieved with some of the biggest South African artistes.”
The artiste said visuals for the song Makukhanye, one of the songs on the album featuring Vsocal 03 and Sweet Guy are now ready. — @TashaMutsiba
