Lack of funds hamper chiefs assembly programmes

Lack of sufficient budgetary support is hampering plans by the Masvingo Provincial Chiefs’ Assembly to resolve all outstanding chieftainship wrangles that have been raging across the province.

The assembly needs money to deploy teams that will preside over selection of the rightful heir to vacant thrones and to make recommendations to the National Chiefs Council which will then endorse and forward the successful candidates to the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing ahead of appointment by the President.
