Ladies’ golf team named

All-Africa Challenge Trophy in Harare.
ZLGU public relations officer Hellen van Rensburg said they had chosen a competitive team.
The competition will be staged at Royal Harare early next month.
“The tournament will be held in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Ladies Open Strokeplay.
“We are expecting teams from South Africa, Angola, Botswana and Namibia to come and take part,” Van Rensberg said.
Recently crowned 2011 Zambian Ladies Champion Claire Minter will be leading the team that also features Rumbidzai Masamvu and Batsirai Tilowakuti.
Minter is also the current Zimbabwe champion after winning the Zimbabwe Ladies Open at Borrowdale Brooke last year.
Masamvu returns to the national team after last taking part in the All-Africa Challenge Cup in Abuja Nigeria last year.
The United States-based golfer will add experience to the Zimbabwean team that usually struggles against powerhouse South Africa.
Junior golf product Tilowakuti will get the much-needed exposure after partnering Minter in the Zambia tournament a few weeks ago.
Tilowakuti is fast becoming a force to reckon with ever since she got a call to the national team.
The country’s second ranked golfer Loice Chingono is the reserve player.
