CLINICAL Lady Chevrons levelled the four match ODI series at 1-1 with a decisive six-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates at Queens Sports Club yesterday.

Electing to field first, Zimbabwe’s bowlers seized control from the opening over and never let go. Loreen Tshuma led the charge with 3/36, while Tendai Makusha’s tight 2/12 kept the pressure on. Adel Zimunu added two wickets of her own as the visitors were bundled out for 160 in 40.5 overs.

UAE’s innings struggled for momentum. Skipper Esha Oza struck a lively 23, Heena Hotchandani top-scored with 34 and Theertha Satish offered late resistance with 28, but none of the partnerships lasted long enough to build a defendable total.

Zimbabwe’s reply was built on a commanding 123-run opening stand. Kelis Ndhlovu anchored the chase with a steady 61 and Modester Mupachikwa added a fluent 52. Even when Oza tried to drag her side back into the contest with 3/28, the home side stayed in charge.

Loryn Phiri’s calm unbeaten nine completed the job in 40.2 overs, sealing a comfortable victory and ensuring the series remains alive heading into the third match.
