Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe is expanding its dry mortars (DMO) range to meet its customers’ needs and reinforce its position as the market leader in innovation and sustainability in building solutions.

The firm has launched a new range of dry mortar products under the Tector brand, which includes tile adhesive, plastering mortar and skim coat.

Having grown sales volumes by 124 percent since last year, Lafarge Zimbabwe’s DMO business finalised the installation of a new fully automated DMO plant which now provides the required production capacity of over 100 000 tonnes per annum to meet growing demand whilst allowing the business to offer international quality building solutions and products.

The five new products under the new dry mortar product architecture were launched last month and include TectorCeram 310 (Standard tile adhesive C1), TectorCeram 320 C2), TectorPlast 152 F and C (2 mortars for internal plastering) and Tector 201 (Skim coat for internal finishing works).

Mr Revesai Gwenhamo, general manager DMO Lafarge Zimbabwe, said the new dry mortar product portfolio and packaging design was developed for greater visibility in the local market and better understanding by customers and end users.

“Our dry mortar operation is a growing business in an economy with an expanding housing market and increasingly sophisticated buyers. These new products will position Lafarge Zimbabwe as the leading building materials provider.

“With Tector, we bring to the market a truly new brand experience that can stand head and shoulders against all the imported offers we currently have in our country.”
