LATEST Covid-19 Update: 59 more people die

AT least 59 people succumbed to Covid-19 in Zimbabwe yesterday, the majority being from Bulawayo with reports that the country’s positivity rate has risen from 17,4 to 20,2 percent.

During the same period 912 new Covid-19 cases, all local were reported countrywide.

Of the 59 deaths, 16 were reported in Bulawayo, 14 in Harare, eight in Mashonaland West, six from Matabeland South and four from Midlands and Mashonaland Central provinces.

Matabeleland North and Manicaland recorded three deaths each while one was recorded in Mashonaland East.

“We recorded 912 new cases, all local and 59 deaths and the seven-day average for new cases rose to 1 898 today from 1 884 yesterday.  As at 11 July 2021, Zimbabwe had 67 765 confirmed cases, including 45 617 recoveries and 2 185 deaths. To date, a total of 895 980 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19,” reads a report from the Ministry of Health and Child Care. – @thamamoe
