HIGHLANDERS Football Club have a new board chairman after Luke Mnkandla took over from Mgcini Nkolomi who has stepped down.
Mnkandla has been on the Highlanders board since the beginning of 2011. He has been chairman of the club’s marketing committee since 2014.
Nkolomi became Highlanders board chairman in 2014 having gotten onto the non elected structure of the club in 2009. He now remains an ordinary board member as he serves his last year.
In other changes to the Bosso board of directors, Cosmas Sikhosana is now the vice chairman, taking over from Jonathan Moyo while Matthew Sibindi remains the board secretary.
Highlanders chief executive officer, Nhlanhla Dube said the changes to the board, which are with immediate effect, were in line with the club’s belief in leadership regular change.
“The changes are in keeping with the club’s philosophy of leadership rotation of office bearers,’’ Dube said.
Delivering his report at the Highlanders annual general meeting at the beginning of the year, Nkolomi announced that he would be stepping down from his position as new terms had been agreed for board members. These will see board members step down after serving for 10 years and the board chairman limited to a two-year term.
