LATEST on Ambassador Zwambila’s alleged strip show

The Canberra-based Zimbabwean envoy last week allegedly stripped to her undergarments after accusing three embassy officials of leaking information to The Herald.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry report will guide President Mugabe — as the appointing authority — on what action, if any, to take against the embassy or anyone else implicated in the matter.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Ambassador Joey Bimha yesterday said: “There are certain procedures to deal with such matters and at the moment the ministry is still collecting all the information.

“After getting all the details we will give a full report to the President, who appoints ambassadors, for relevant action.”
Government sources yesterday said if found guilty of serious misconduct, Ambassador Zwa-mbila risks losing her post.

An official said the Foreign Affairs Ministry would ask Ms Zwambila and the three officers involved to make submissions on what transpired.
Basing on these submissions, Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi will then present a report with recommendations to President Mugabe.
