Addressing a high-powered delegation from the Antwerp World Diamond Centre at his offices in Harare, Minister Mpofu said the buyers were turned down because Zimbabwe wanted to comply with KP regulations.

The minister, however, said the country was frustrated that some hostile nations still wanted Zimbabwe banned from trading its Marange diamonds and warned that Harare could “make or break the KPCS”.
“We have people knocking on our doors everyday saying sell us your diamonds with or without the KP.
“Some of them are from Canada and the US. I said no. I am accountable to the KPCS,” he said.
Minister Mpofu said while Zimbabwe was committed to the KPCS, it was losing patience with the organisation as it had chosen to be political.-The Herald
