A grouping of Western funded NGOs under the ambit of Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition and National Organisation of Non-Governmental Organisations over the weekend had threatened to pull out of the conference over the involvement of political parties in selecting civil sector delegates.
Political parties had been allocated 173 slots each to nominate civic sector representatives for the conference but the NGOs argued this would make them appendages of some political parties.
Zanu-PF Copac co-chairperson Cde Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana yesterday confirmed the resolution of the matter.
“The issue has been resolved. It was just an administrative issue and did not mean they would lose their identities. They will retain their identities and we are not taking them as part of us,” he said.
MDC-T co-chairperson Mr Douglas Mwonzora, also confirmed the accreditation process would go ahead today as scheduled.
