Lawrence Simbarashe gatecrashes at Chibuku

at Glamis Arena after he demanded entry into the VIP stand claiming that he had every right because he once starred in an advertisement for them.

Simbarashe, popularly known as Bhonzo after the comedy radio and television series in which he starred alongside Timothy “Timmy” Tapfumanei, drew attention from the crowd after he gate crashed into the VIP section where guests were treated to food and drink.

Clad in African regalia, the visibly ageing Bhonzo complained to Delta Beverages officials, who are the sponsors of the event, before he was allowed entrance into the VIP section.
Bhonzo argued that since he was the face behind the hugely popular – Black Label Lager – commercial he should have been invited at the event.

“I did quite a lot for these guys and now they don’t want me at their event . . . kuiita here uku vakomana,” he complained.
Richard Rashai, of Delta Beverages had to intervene on his behalf by smuggling him into the VIP arena.

Bhonzo, who was in the company of a fellow artiste when the incident occurred, also had to be given vouchers together with his colleague despite the fact that they were both not accredited.
