IN the past seven months or so, the song Fire Emoji has been a whirlwind, sweeping across the local music scene.
Zim hip hop artist, Tavonga “Leo Magozz” Magombedze, appears to be a star on the rise on the music scene.
He recently won two awards at the Zimbabwe Music Awards ceremony.
He scooped the Best Collaboration with his song Fire Emoji Remix featuring Holy Ten, Volts JT and Nutty O.
He also scooped the Best Newcomer award.
The singer walked away with two gongs in the Best Upcoming Artist and Song of the Year categories at the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) in February at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
In an interview with H-Metro, Leo Magozz said:
“I am grateful to have won the awards, I feel great and appreciated for winning these awards,” he said.
Leo Magozz has teamed up with other artists, Freeman HKD and Gemma, for surprise collaborations.
He said he will be dropping his latest projects this month.
“Fire as always, this is going to be something big,” he said.
His collaboration with Gemma Griffith is set to drop in August.
Leo Magozz, however, has not yet disclosed the collaboration titles to his fans.
