A CNBM International warehouse supervisor was yesterday hauled to court for allegedly defrauding his employer of more than US$31 000.

The company specialises in solar energy accessories.

Washington Kasemamuriwo was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

The court heard that the company conducted an inventory check using proforma invoices, which were generated from the QuickBooks system used by the company, when it does physical stock clearance.

It was discovered that Kasemamuriwo allegedly connived with Kingsione Nhira, a director at Unigold Solar Installations (Pvt) Limited, to steal from CNBM International.

They would allegedly inflate quantities of products on delivery notes purporting that all the material had been paid for.

In the process he would give the fake delivery notes to Nhira, who would collect the goods using the documents.

The two would share the stolen property.

The stolen property was valued at US$37 000 and nothing was recovered.
