LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Let’s applaud Govt for availing fuel to garages

Editor — While there is panic buying of fuel and queues getting longer by the day, people should applaud the effort by the Ministry of Energy for continuously availing fuel to the garages.

We see tankers almost every day offloading fuel but queues keep increasing.
Service stations should allow motorists to fill up their vehicles and allow five litres only to be poured into jerrycans.

While on the subject of keeping fuel in jerrycans at homes, motorists must know that it is very dangerous and I have known of homes that have been razed down and in some cases this has resulted in loss of life when the fuel caught fire.

The illegal foreign currency dealers, commonly known as osiphatheleni, must be licensed so that all the forex out there becomes part of fiscus and forex will find its way to the bank officially.

When illegal gold dealers were licensed, Fidelity Printers benefited a lot because gold was now finding its way to Fidelity Printers officially.

This could be a remedy to the foreign currency crisis the country is currently facing.
