Letters to the Editor: Let’s not contaminate Christianity

Lawrence Chinene

CHURCHES are fast turning into platforms to show people’s social status. Some churches are now considered as a showbiz platform, an occasion to show off what one is or owns.

Wearing of mini-skirts, see-through, sleeveless blouses or shirts, skimpy dressing at church is taboo to Christianity. Dress in what suits you but do not violate someone’s rights.

There is a need to differentiate between a church and showbiz of course, there is nothing wrong with people looking smart and clean at a church but let us dress decently and show solidarity with Christianity. And the manner in which Christians come to worship is viewed differently.

No one should be considered superior at church, especially by the way one dresses. Remember we were all created in the same entity of God.

Let us not allow satan to come in and distort our humble beliefs. Worshipping is the key to kill the devil.

Let your life be meaningful to God. People should shun discriminating the rich from the poor at churches.

Looking at the aspect of correcting, the first thing that should be looked at is pride. Remove pride because it is one of the things that results in people failing to benefit from other people. The church should be revered. Let’s not contaminate Christianity and showbiz.
