LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Privatisation of State enterprises way to go

Editor – The idea of privatisation of parastatals is real business talk from Honourable Minister Mthuli Ncube and it makes a lot of sense.

Most of these parastatals can be managed better if they are privatised and could form a good ground for Foreign Direct Investment, for example GMB’s Silo brand can get takers.

I believe in the Minister and what he stands for.

I’m also proud of his recent presentation in England. This was by far better than some presentations made there before. He must continue with his reforms and sooner or later people will realise that running a country is like running a business.

Measures should be fully implemented. It must no longer be business as usual but we need a performance-based approach. We should all bear the pain of austerity to realise a better future. Soldier on, Honourable Ncube.

However, transparency and accountability are going to be key in this journey.

That requires reporting back to the people in six or nine months for progress. God bless Zimbabwe.
