Licenced gold dealer loses US$13 800 cash

A LICENCED  gold buyer lost US$13 800 cash to a fake gold supplier.

Bani Bani (29) of Fox Worth Consulting was duped into buying fake gold by Brandon Munyaradzi.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said Munyaradzi is helping police with investigations.

“Police arrested a man for selling fake gold to a local gold dealer,” said Insp Chakanza.

“Complainant realised that he had bought fake gold when he tried to melt it.”

In another fraud case, Elizabeth Majilana (46), from Marlborough, lost US$76 to some broiler chicken dealers.

She gave the US$76 as change unaware that she had been given a fake US$100 note.

Yolanda Mangwiro (28) from Waterfalls lost US$50 to one Nyasha after receiving a fake Ecocash message in a foreign currency exchange deal.
