A NKULUMANE kombi driver who allegedly mowed down a pedestrian while driving without a licence has found himself in the dock!
Derek Mloyi (29) appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga facing a charge of negligent driving after he allegedly hit Dumisani Ncube along Khami Road and left him seriously injured.
According to prosecutor Ms Audrey Kufandikanwe, the accident happened on 27 March around 7.40PM while Mloyi was behind the wheel of a Toyota Hiace commuter omnibus.

He allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and was speeding when he struck Ncube, who was walking along the road.

In court, Mloyi denied being reckless, claiming he swerved to avoid oncoming traffic and accidentally hit the pedestrian who was walking in his lane.
He was remanded out of custody to 23 July as the trial continues.
