A LIFELESS CAPS United staggered to a goalless draw in this relegation Castle Lager Premiership battle at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
The match started slowly and there was really nothing to write home about.
The introduction of Joel Ngodzo, at the beginning of the second half, saw CAPS United utilising pockets of space in the Tenax defence.
It was, however, Panashe Mutasa of Tenax, who came close to breaking the deadlock, in the 46th minute, after collecting a long clearance from the back.
However, his effort went over the bar.
In the 55th minute, Devon Chafa missed a sitter from William Manondo’s assist.
Shumbainwe Pascal of Tenax was next to blast over the bar in the 58th minute.
“We could have done more, but there is no talk that can change the situation.
“It is a situation that you have to accept and move on,” said Lloyd Chitembwe, the CAPS United coach.
Tenax head coach, Shadreck Mugurasave, was disappointed not to collect maximum points.
“We wanted to collect three points and I am disappointed with the outcome.
“We created some chances and failed to utilise them.
“We are now looking forward to our next match against Harare City.
“Our chances of surviving relegation are still bright, so we are going to work hard,” he said.
CAPS United are now on 31 points and Tenax are on 22 points.
