Simba almost there

SIMBA Bhora are almost there.

They now just need to win their next match to win the ZIFA Northern Region Division One race.

The Shamva-based side survived a scare before beating Harare City 1-0 at Rufaro on Saturday.

Genius Saukila’s late strike kept the visitors in control of the title race, four points ahead of fierce rivals Herentals Under-20.

The Young Students neutralised a resilient Trojan Stars 1-0.

Simba Bhora need to win their next assignment at Wadzanai, against Commando Bullets, to be crowned the 2022 Northern Region Division One kings.

The Golden Eagles suffered a 1-2 loss to Commando Bullets.

They were just four points off the mark, a month ago, but they are now 12 points adrift of the top spot.

Ngezi Under-19 humbled Golden Valley 3-1 at Rimuka.

Takunda Benhura’s hat-trick powered the visitors to an impressive win.

He seems to have found his groove back after a poor Premiership debut in the club’s senior team.

He was promoted following a brilliant first half of the Northern Region campaign, which saw him shouldering the scoring burden for the developmental side.

But, the top-flight league is a different beast and he was loaned back to the developmental side, without scoring a goal.

Karoi United registered a 1-0 win over rivals Banket United in a Mashonaland West derby at Chikangwe.

There was nothing to separate CAM & Motor and Come Again as they settled for a 1-1 stalemate.

Commando Bullets, Ngezi Under-19 and Black Mambas are now battling for fourth spot.

Banket United, CUMA FC, Golden Valley, PAM, Come Again and Chinhoyi Stars are in the relegation matrix.

Cam & Motor and Harare City have already been relegated.
