1147: “Instead of going back to his medical filed he chose to stay with the military were he rose through the ranks and became Brigadier-General. The independence and values of the liberation struggle needed to be safe guarded.”

1145:” John was among the lucky ones who survived…the death and suffering plays back and you ask yourselves with all that amount of dying, suffering and pain why more death?”

1142: “We grief over his very sad and untimely death. The four years before independence were years of great danger….anything could have happened….the war brought all manner of dangers and it took brave cadres like him to survive the war”

1107: The casket has been laid in front of the Tomb of the Unknown soldier as proceedings are about to start.

1028: Senior Minister of State in the office of the President, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo and Service Chiefs have arrived at the National Heroes Acre.

0945: Scores have gathered at the Heroes Acre for the burial of Brigadier-General John Zingoni.
