PERENNIAL ZIFA Southern Region Division One campaigners, ZPC Hwange, moved an inch closer to the title with a 1-0 win over Victoria Falls City at the Colliery at the weekend.
The win took their tally to 58 points.
They now need just 11 points from a possible 24 to seal the league title.
It has been a long journey for the team who have seen generations of players fail to guide the club to glory.
But victory appears to be in sight.
It has taken a local, Mebelo Njekwa, to turn the tide in their favour.
Eddie Nkulungo, a veteran Division One player, scored the only goal in the win over Victoria Falls City.
The leaders are 13 points clear of Casmyn, who are second on 45 points.
Csamyn can only end the season on 69 points, if they win all their matches.
Their striker Tatenda Ushe took over the lead in the Golden Boot race when he scored his 14th of the season.
Justin Kaunda and Mbongeni Minezhi at 13 goals apiece.
