Local company loses US$27 000 to robbers

TWO robbers raided a company in the Workington Industrial Area, Harare on Sunday, before stealing US$ 27 000 cash and some perfumes.

No arrests have been made and investigations are in progress.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“The ZRP is investigating a robbery case which occurred at company premises along Coventry Road, Workington Industrial Area, Harare on April 13, 2025, at around 2 am,” he said.

“Two unknown suspects, armed with unidentified pistols and wearing face masks, pounced at the premises.

“They overpowered the security guard before breaking a toilet window to gain entry into the offices where they blasted a safe with explosives.

“The suspects stole US$27 000 cash and some perfumes. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.”
