A LOCAL charity organisation, Tzu Chi Zimbabwe, has expressed its willingness to collaborate with First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope Foundation in key areas including healthcare, education and feeding programmes for vulnerable communities.
Inspired by the First Lady’s transformative work, Tzu Chi Zimbabwe revealed that it employs traditional methods to identify key points that promote natural healing of the body.
The organisation also plans to partner Angel of Hope Foundation to construct health and education facilities, drill boreholes and improve access to clean water in underserved areas.
Tzu Chi Zimbabwe also mentioned that they have feeding centres. The First Lady, who also conducts such feeding programmes nationwide, asked whether they have a targeted demographic.
It also commended Zimbabwe for maintaining one of the highest literacy rates in Africa, while pledging to complement Government and community efforts through tangible development projects.
Speaking after meeting Tzu Chi Zimbabwe’s executive at her offices yesterday, First Lady Dr Mnangagwa said Tzu Chi Zimbabwe’s focus areas dovetails with the Angel of Hope Foundation’s mission.

“The areas in which you are seeking partnership education, health, and feeding programmes are the same areas I am deeply involved in.
“These are essential aspects that shape lives, so they go hand-in-hand with what I am doing.
“I am happy to meet you and learn about your work. Collaboration is important because we share the same goal of serving the people of Zimbabwe,” she said.
The First Lady also invited Tzu Chi Zimbabwe to participate her Angel of Hope’s Foundation’s vibrant medical outreach programmes so they could showcase their traditional healing expertise.
Dr Mnangagwa emphasised that feeding programmes must be properly screened and managed under the guidance of the Department of Social Welfare.
Tzu Chi Zimbabwe’s director, Chin Chai Chu, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet the First Lady and align their efforts with the Angel of Hope Foundation’s well-documented good works.
“We are very grateful to have had the chance today to introduce the First Lady to the many things we do in Zimbabwe.
“Our partnership is intended to benefit all Zimbabweans. We aim to cooperate in the health sector by using natural healing methods focused on key points of the body, implementing feeding programmes, and drilling and servicing boreholes,” he said.
Mr Chu also lauded Zimbabwe’s education system as the best in Africa and pledged to construct a maternity ward for one of the local clinics.
The Angel of Hope Foundation remains a beacon of hope for the nation inspiring many, championing initiatives in health, education, and food security.
From delivering quality healthcare including rehabilitation and wellness programmes to supporting schools with resources, skills training, and community empowerment projects, the Foundation continues to uplift the most vulnerable, particularly women, youth, and children.
