Local funeral assurer toasts to country’s drive

ONE of the country’s biggest life assurers, Nyaradzo Group, has made strides in facilitating local investment in the United Kingdom (UK), signalling success of the country’s re-engagement drive.

The company becomes the first Zimbabwean entity to establish a branch in the UK, named Nyaradzo House, which not only provides life assurance services, but also serves as a hub for Zimbabwean consular services. The development underscores Zimbabwe’s commitment to foster mutually beneficial bilateral relations with London, while expanding its economic footprint.

Nyaradzo Group is actively supporting Zimbabwe-themed events in the UK, which are aimed at bolstering local businesses.

Nyaradzo UK managing director Mr Lordwick Mushawa said: “The group supports Zimbabwe-themed events in the UK, like Zimfest, a music festival that brings Zimbabwean artistes to perform in Britain.

“This support helps build the Zimbabwean community in the UK, creating a sense of home away from home. The annual Trade and Investment Fair in Letchworth Gardens, hosted by Nyaradzo UK, offers other Zimbabwean companies a platform to expand their reach.

“We have been doing this for years. It’s not just about showcasing what we do, but it’s about creating a community where Zimbabwean businesses can connect and grow.”

The 2023 fair was attended by Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the UK, Colonel Christian Katsande (Retired), along with North Hertfordshire councillor Daniel Allen and his consort, councillor Amy Allen.

Nyaradzo Group co-exhibited with the British Embassy at the just-ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

“The company is demonstrating that business can be both profitable and beneficial to a broader community,” said Mr Mashawa. “The journey may have just begun, but Nyaradzo is already charting a course that could lead to a lasting partnership, transforming how Zimbabwe engages with the rest of the world.”
