LOCAL and international companies are expected to exhibit at next month’s 22nd Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference at Mutare Polytechnic in Manicaland Province, with more than 50 companies having already confirmed their participation.
The conference will run from October 13-18 under the theme: “Attainment of Vision 2030 Through Economic Empowerment and Value Addition.”
The gathering is expected to consolidate national efforts towards reviving the country’s economy.
This is in line with President Mnangagwa’s aggressive pursuit of economic recovery through the implementation of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).
The NDS1, a five-year medium-term plan running from 2021 to 2025, is designed to achieve Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 of becoming an upper-middle-income society.
To this end, the Government has focused on key themes such as macro-economic stability, infrastructural development, human capital development, and devolution, with a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track progress.
In an interview, Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, indicated that 60 percent of the exhibition stands have already been taken up, even before official advertisements have been flighted.
“On the issue of exhibitions, more than 60 percent of the area has been taken up and this is actually very exciting because this is occurring before we have even officially launched the advert.
“Just from knowing that there will be an exhibition, companies have already started streaming in. So, we are expecting, once again this year, our exhibition area to be oversubscribed,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
Due to the significant interest from various companies, the party has announced plans to extend the exhibition area.
“We are considering expanding our exhibition space because of the immense interest shown by different companies wishing to exhibit with us,” he said.
Cde Mutsvangwa advised that, as space is filling up quickly, companies should act promptly.
He said Manicaland will be a focal point at the upcoming Business Expo, showcasing the impact of President Mnangagwa’s economic policies and highlighting the various activities taking place in the province.
Accreditation for delegates expected to attend the conference has already started across the provinces.
“In line with the President’s directive, we will see a more streamlined conference this year, with only essential delegates in attendance.
“This approach aims to reduce the traditionally large numbers at conferences, allowing representatives of the people to communicate their messages effectively to the leadership,” he highlighted.
