Local models Shadel Noble and Tatenda Manungo have appealed to the public for sponsorship to enable them to attend the 2017 World Championship of Preforming Arts (WCOPA) competition to be held in Hollywood, USA later this year.

The two models were scheduled to attend the competition last year but could not make it because of financial constraints.

However, they have a second chance at gracing the event as they have been invited to attend this year’s competition that takes places from 30 June to 9 July.

Costs to be covered by participants include uniform fees, food and accommodation, excursion fees and events passes.

“I have for the second time been invited to the world championship performance of the arts in Hollywood. I was so disappointed I could not participate last year due to finances. I stood a very good chance of representing our nation and carrying our flag proudly high. This competition is happening again in July this year. I am appealing to the public in their personal and professional capacities for assistance in enabling me to participate in these shows as they can be financially strenuous,” Noble said.

He added that whatever sponsorship the public could avail to both him and Manungo would help to put the country’s local models on the global map.

“I believe Hollywood will take my career to another level. I will be exposed to how things are done over there and be able to meet and interact with different people of different nations. It will boost my confidence greatly and make me a greater model.

They say the sky is the limit so I always aim to take my career to higher levels,” said Manungo, who, like Noble is also a product of Fingers Modeling Agency.

WCOPA is an annual arts competition and this year marks 21 years. Last year Zimbabwe was represented by model Tafadzwa Carol Guzha, beat boxer Denzel Mashonganyika who made it to the semi-finals and model Timothy Hogo and instrumentalist Silent Nhendere who made it to the finals of the competition.
